Laramie, Wyoming · By Appointment

Step inside
the workshop.

See the hides. Meet the crew. Or sit down with one of us and design a bag that's yours alone — crafted right here, just for you.

A note from the crew

Most leather you'll ever own is made somewhere you'll never see, by hands you'll never meet.

We thought that was a shame. So we opened the doors. Come walk the floors of our 1890s building, watch the work happen, and, if you want, sit down with us to design a bag that's yours from the first stitch.

The Workshop Tour

45 minutes through the building
Step in through the coffee shop passthrough at 8:55 am, before the doors open to the public. One of our crew will walk you floor-by-floor through our 1890s building — original tin ceilings, brick, and wood floors — showing how a hide becomes a wallet, a bag, a belt, a hat. From the showroom to the basement to the freight elevator that used to haul furniture, you'll see every step of how it gets made. Includes a $25 gift card + free coffee coupon.

The walkthrough

Five stops through the building.

From the showroom floor to the basement hide rack, here's where the tour takes you.

01

First Floor · Showroom

Welcome & Brand Story

— how we got here

A quick history of Range and the building itself — constructed in the 1890s with the original tin ceiling, brick, and wood floors still intact. The three things we stand on: full-grain leather, the Forever Guarantee, and handcrafted right here.

02

First Floor · Production

Small Goods & Bags

— the work in motion

A live walkthrough of crafting: cutting hides, punching holes, hand-stitching reinforcement points. You'll see the sewing machines for edge work and the hand-stitching benches where every external pocket gets locked in. We'll explain why full-grain holds up where lesser leathers don't.

03

The Old Elevator

Freight, Not People

— a piece of building history

The original freight elevator that hauled furniture for the building's earlier tenants. Still operational, still a character. We don't ride it, but you'll get the story.

04

Basement

Raw Materials & QC

— where the hides live

The hide inventory and storage room, plus our quality-control station where every finished piece gets inspected before it goes anywhere near a customer. We'll talk through how we source from Horween and what we look for in a good hide.

05

Second Floor

Hats & Custom Branding

— from logo to leather

Our leather-patch hat operation. Watch a logo go from mock-up to brass stamp to heat-pressed patch, ready for a hat. Coasters, keychains, corporate gifts — same process, same shop. If you've got branding ideas, this is where they happen.

Personalize a Bag

— a 30-minute design session
Sit down with one of our crew and design a bag that's only yours. We'll walk you through our full lineup, talk through tannages, lay swatches across the table, and help you settle on a leather, color combination, and monogram that fits the way you live. You leave the session with a bag in production — built start-to-finish, just for you.

Why we do this

Not a museum.
A working shop.

The Range building isn't a tourist stop — it's where the work happens, six days a week. When you visit, the lights are on. The machines are running. The crew is at their benches. You're seeing the real thing.

We use full-grain Horween leather from a tannery in Chicago that's been making it since 1905. We cut, stitch, and finish every piece in Laramie. And we back the construction for life. That's the whole story — and the best way to tell it is to show you.

We make it. You use it hard. If it ever quits, we fix it.

Frequently asked questions

What's included with the tour?

Each guest receives a $25 Range Leather gift card and a free coffee coupon for our coffee shop. Plus 45 minutes through every floor of our 1890s building with one of our crew.

How is the personalization session different from the tour?

The tour is a group walk-through of how we work. The personalization session is a one-on-one design appointment where you sit down with us, look at options, and design a bag that gets built to your specs. Different experiences, different goals.

Do I have to commit to a bag during the personalization session?

Nope — there's no pressure. Some guests come in knowing exactly what they want. Others use the session to figure out what they like. If you decide to move forward, we'll wrap with checkout and put your bag into production. If not, you've still spent 30 minutes learning the craft.

What if I need to cancel?

Full refund up to 48 hours before your booking. Inside 48 hours, we'll move you to another date — life happens, and Wyoming weather happens, and we know it.

Is there a place to stay nearby?

Plenty. Laramie's got a handful of good hotels and B&Bs within a few blocks of the shop. We're happy to point you to our favorites — just ask when you book.
